The DDPI (Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction) is an authorization document that permits your stockbroker, such as Zerodha to automatically debit shares from your demat account when you sell them and transfer them to the exchange. By submitting this document, you eliminate the need to manually enter the CDSL T-PIN and OTP each time you sell shares. However, it’s important to note that using DDPI is completely optional, and if preferred, you can continue to authenticate each sale by entering the T-PIN for every transaction.

How to Enable DDPI in Zerodha ?

  1. Log into console.zerodha.com.
  2. Click on Account.
  3. Click on the arrow and then click on Demat.
  4. Click on Enable Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI).
  5. Accept the terms and conditions. Click on Continue.
  6. Click on Proceed and then on Sign Now.
  7. Accept the terms and conditions. Enter the Aadhaar number.
  8. Click on Send OTP.
  9. Enter the OTP.
  10. Click on Verify & Sign.
