Tim Walz American politician, former educator, and retired U.S. Army non-commissioned officer.

He was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019.

Walz was reelected to the House five times before he was elected governor of Minnesota in 2018 and reelected in 2022.

Vice President Kamala Harris announced Walz as her running mate in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

Walz became first active in politics in August 2004, when he volunteered for John Kerry's presidential campaign.

In 2017, Walz was floated as a possible candidate for the 2018 special election for the U.S.

Walz was sworn in as governor of Minnesota on January 7, 2019, at the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul.
